Usain Bolt Wins 200 Meters at World Championships, Gets Clobbered by Segway

Earlier this week, Usain Bolt nipped Justin Gatlin by 0.01 seconds in the 100 meters at the 2015 IAAF World Track Championships in Beijing. The second half of their showdown –the 200 meters–took place on August 27th. This time, it was a no doubt about cruise to victory for the Jamaican sprinter. Bolt beat Gatlin by almost two tenths of a second to claim his fourth World Championship in the 200, to go with two Olympic Golds in the event.

It seems like Bolt is still unstoppable. However, after the race he did meet his match when a cameraman on a Segway ran into him and knocked him down.
Bolt apparently is OK. He is scheduled to race again as part of Jamaica’s 4 X 100 relay team later in these World Championships.

Back on the track, American sprinter Allyson Felix took the gold in the women’s 400 meters. Felix is the defending 200 meter Olympic Gold medalist, and may compete in both events in the 2016 Rio Olympics. This is her first World Championship in the 400 meters, to go with three golds in the 200. Felix, like Bolt, has also medaled in both the Olympics and Worlds in relays.
