Top Ranked Alabama loses at #10 Tennessee in College Basketball

Highly ranked Alabama sports teams are having a bit of a hard time playing at conference rival Tennessee these days. Back on October 15th, Alabama’s third ranked football team lost to #6 Tennessee in Knoxville 52-49. Jumping ahead to February 15th, the #1 Crimson Tide basketball team lost at #10 Tennessee 68-59.

This was the first time Alabama had been ranked number one in twenty years, and this loss was the first game the Crimson Tide had played in since ascending to the top. It was also Alabama’s first conference loss of the season. The Crimson Tide is still at the top of the SEC standings at 12-1, with a 22-4 overall record. Tennessee ended a two game losing skid to improve to 9-4 in conference play, good for third place. The Volunteers are 20-6 overall. Texas A&M is in second place (11-2, 19-7).
