Susan Sarandon Has Big Role in Season 5 of Ray Donovan
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Susan Sarandon will be playing a movie studio mogul on the upcoming Season 5 of Showtime’s hit series “Ray Donovan”, our very favorite Showtime series.
The 70-year-old Oscar-winning actress is currently starring in the FX “Feud” series, as Bette Davis, with Jessica Lange as Joan Crawford. Jimmy Fallon talked to Sarandon about the series last month.
Samantha Winslow is the name of her Ray Donovan character, and it is described as a “sizable” role. We doubt if it’s as sizable as her Bette Davis role on “Feud,” so if there’s another Emmy nomination in Sarandon’s future (she already has 4), it most likely won’t be for the “Ray Donovan” role.
The series, which stars Liev Schreiber as the title character and Jon Voight as his father, Mickey Donovan, has had many well-known co-stars throughout its first 4 seasons, among them: James Woods, Grace Zabriskie, Ann Margret, Lisa Bonet, Stacy Keach, Paul Michael Glaser, Rosanna Arquette and Sherilyn Fenn.
A return date for Ray Donovan Season 5 has not yet been announced. Based on prior seasons, it could be the last week of June or perhaps mid-July. In the meantime, “Feud: Bette and Joan” will continue on FX with the finale airing on April 23, 2017.
