Supporting Cast: Own Your Sh*t – Shameless
There were some new characters in Episode 5, Season 7 of Shameless (10-30-16), as well as a couple of returnees from prior seasons. We’ve got the actors and actresses who played them in this post. The recap of the episode is here.
June Squibb was a special guest star. She played laundromat owner, Etta. her change machine was broken because people kept putting slugs in it and, she said, the slugs were harder to get out than a string bikini up her a$$.
Joel Steingold played the Tinder financial consultant that Fiona hooked up with. She broke her own rules by calling him again but that’s because she needed the financial tips. He suggested that the next time, they could meet in his office and perhaps that indicates that he doesn’t give financial advice for free. We might even find out his name in the next episode.
Zack Pearlman played Sierra’s brain-damaged brother Neil, who involuntarily comes out with the most inappropriate comments about female body parts. Neil is sure to provide a bunch of laughs whenever he is onscreen but seriously, what are the chances that this random guy who ran into Debbie would be related to Sierra, who is having a no-strings relationshp with Debbie’s brother, Lip? Lip seemed to be having some second thoughts about his involvement with Sierra when he saw her flirting with a touchy-feely customer at Patsy’s. Now Debbie is considering taking over the role of caretaker to Neil. Primary reason: he has a large settlement and disability after riding his skateboard into a bus. Neil said he lives with Sierra who is usually too busy to watch after him, and Debbie took that to mean he lives alone. Besides Neil and sometimes overnight guest, Lip, Sierra has a kid of her own. So there really might not be any room for Debbie and Franny at the Sierra Inn. That’s assuming that Franny isn’t taken away from Debbie by Child Services.
Gabrielle Walsh returned as Tanya. She was last seen in Season 5 when she told Debbie that Franny’s father, Derek, left town because he was not ready to be a father. Maybe he’ll be ready now when he finds out that Debbie was fist-fighting for begging rights on a street corner with their daughter in her arms.
Jose Julian returned as Joaquin, Lip’s college buddy. He was last seen in “NSFW” (Season 6, Episode 6) and was actually the one who got to say the episode title in full when he told Lip that the picture of Professor Helen Runyon in Lip’s bed was now on Gawker labeled “Not Safe for Work.”
