Supporting Cast of Irish Spring: Ray Donovan

Here are some of the actors who appeared in Irish Spring, the fifth episode of Season 2 of Ray Donovan.

Omar J. Dorsey will be playing Cookie Brown, a Suge Knight-like type in the rap music business. We last saw Omar in “Rake” as Roy, an enforcer of gambling debts who falls in love with Greg Kinnear’s English Gal Friday. Very comical. But it doesn’t look like this is going to be played for laughs. Cookie just got out of jail and has taken an interest in ReKon’s (Kwame Patterson) young ward and new rap star, Marvin Gaye Washington (Octavius J. Johnson). Cookie likes his Glock 45 to be right handy at parties.

Richard Fancy played Judge Irving Salzman whose assistance was badly needed in getting Mickey Donovan (Jon Voight) out of the hands of power-mad FBI director Ed Cochran. Ezra Goldman (Elliot Gould) and Ray Donovan (Liev Schreiber) obtained the warrant by downloading child porn into the judge’s computer and then blackmailing him. We assume Ezra got the extra $20,000 he wanted for the Ruth Goldman Cancer Center, too.

Garrett Boyd appeared again as Alex, the boy pushed down the stairs at school by Conor Donovan (Devon Bagby), Ray’s son. Shane Blades played his father. Ray took Conor over to apologize for the broken collarbone Alex suffered but Conor would not say the I’m sorry words because his grandfather, Mickey (Jon Voight) told him that Donovans don’t apologize. In a different segment of the episode, Ray’s wife Abby (Paula Malcomson) was told by a potential neighbor that everyone knew her husband is a street thug. Apparently, Alex’ father didn’t get the message or he wouldn’t have put his hands on Conor and called him a dick or jumped bad with Ray when Conor said he was trying to make him a bitch. But he found out later when he went to put the garbage out and Ray whizzed by in his car — very close.

Special mention again: Rosanna Arquette appeared both in the morgue photos and as the ghost of Linda at Mickey’s door. Linda still needs closure.
