Supporting Cast of Ellis Island: Ray Donovan
Here are some of the actors who appeared in “Ellis Island,” (11-25-2018), the fifth episode of “Ray Donovan,” Season 6 The episode recap is here.
Gillian Saker played Annie, the woman who befriended Ray on the ferry to Ellis Island and randomly quoted William Butler Yeats “Cloths of Heaven” to him. She also randomly disappeared into thin air, but notice how she listened in on Ray’s phone conversation with Conor before approaching him. Figments of your imagination don’t eavesdrop on you before you even know they are there. We’re thinking that there’ll be some symbolism involved with that Yeats stuff, kind of like the “Horses” painting with Abby. But why all the talk about the dead Donovan servicemen? Are they foreshadowing Conor’s death? That would suck because it would be a lot better if at least one of the Donovan kids did well in their chosen path.
Delaney Williams played Judge Gregory Scholl who was sitting in his chambers, sorting out stacks of money and complaining about his thin financial resources to his wife on the phone. Sgt. Mikey ‘Rad’ Radulovic (Tony Curran) came in with Mac McGrath (Domenick Lombardozzi) and the judge gave Rad some envelopes. Mac has to be in on this or he would not even be allowed in the room and, also, there was the exchange between him and Rad in the courtroom about whether Mac’s wife Amber would spill any beans. This graft operation has to be what Internal Affairs is investigating, and apparently, Mayor Ferrati is involved as well.
Josh Pais showed up from L.A. as crazy Stu Feldman. He was brought in as the new producer of “Mr. Lucky” after Daryll was given the gate over Jay White’s kidnapping ordeal with Mickey. The last time we saw Stu was in “The Texan” (S4 E8). Back then, he was married to Ashley Rucker but we know that’s over because he informed Ray that his current wife is Chinese. After kicking Ray and Conor off the set as instructed, Stu said he would be in town for a month and invited Ray to lunch. “F**k off, Stu,” was Ray’s reply.
Keir O’Donnell put in an appearance as George Winslow, Sam’s stepson. He was last seen in “Mr. Lucky” (S5 E9). Apparently, Sam had him stashed away in Minnesota in some kind of in-patient program but George got out. He wants Lacy Anson to be a movie star but Sam says that Lacy will never be a star, no matter if she resembles Ursula Andress.
Notes: The more we see of Smitty, the less we like him. Cue the violins: Ray and Abby were piss poor role models so although Bridget knows her family is toxic, she is blind to the defects of the zero she has appointed as her hero. Whatever, we don’t see this marriage happening.
It’s a small world after all: That’s what we felt like singing when we saw them deliver Chalky Silver to Arthur Kill Prison, the property Sam Winslow is desperately trying to acquire. Read about the real prison’s history and current use here.
