Suns go 8-0 In NBA Restart, But Miss Playoffs
The Phoenix Suns haven’t been to the NBA playoffs since the 2009-10 season, and they won’t go this year either, but there is reason to believe the drought will end next season. Phoenix was undefeated in the NBA restart games in the bubble, with a perfect 8-0 record. The Suns finished the season with a record of 34-39 and a winning percentage of .466, their best record since they were 39-43 (.476) in the 2014-15 season. Since they, Phoenix had won no more than 24 games, reaching bottom at 19-63 last season.
The Suns made a number of personnel changes in the off season via trades and free agent signings, including signing veteran guard Ricky Rubio and power forward Frank Kaminsky, but the star of the show with the Suns is Devon Booker. The shooting guard out of Kentucky averaged 26.6 points and 6.5 assists per game for the season. Booker scored 35 points in four of the eight bubble games. His lowest scoring output was 20 points in a win over Indiana, but he still had a double double for the game with 10 assists.
Here’s some highlights of the Suns’ 130-117 win over the Philadelphia 76ers on August 11th, a game where Booker scored 35.
