Sharks Down Wild for 5th Straight Win
The San Jose Sharks are rounding into form at the right time. On March 11th, the Sharks beat the Minnesota Wild in Minnesota for their fifth straight victory, after a 2-3 stretch. San Jose got off to a slow start this season, and was 12-10 -2 on December 1st, but after beating the Wild, the Sharks are 42-19-8; with 92 points they are a point ahead of Pacific Division rival Calgary Flames for the best record in the NHL West. The Sharks have one game remaining against the Flames, hosting them on March 31st.
The Wild, meanwhile, are going cold at the wrong time. Minnesota has lost four of five, and while the Wild with 74 points hold the final Wild Card slot in the Western Conference, four teams are within five points of them, including Arizona (73), Colorado (72), and Chicago and Edmonton with 69 each.
