Sandra Bullock Rebound

Sandra Bullock told the Associated Press that she felt “permanently broken” after her divorce from Jessie James, not from the breakup of the marriage, but she felt she would not be able to resume her acting career — ever.

“I was perfectly content to be permanently broken,” Bullock said, noting that she was content without acting until British director Stephen Daldry approached her about appearing in “Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close.”

“I honestly didn’t think I was in a place where I wanted to work or wanted to step out of where I was. I wasn’t prepared. But the opportunity was louder than my head,” the 47-year-old Oscar winner said.

“Extremely Loud” is a film about how the loss of a family member in the September 11th tragedy affects one family. Bullock plays the mother, Tom Hanks is the father and Thomas Horn plays and son.

Once back on the acting horse, it must have been hard to get off — she recently finished shooting another film “Gravity” where she again plays a mother, this time in outer space trying to get back to earth to her daughter.

Hopefully if she wins another Oscar, it won’t bring back bad memories since the Jesse James scandal broke right after she won the Best Actress Oscar for Blind Side. In a recent Tonight Show appearance, it almost seemed like Jay Leno stuck his foot in his mouth saying he hadn’t seen Ms. Bullock since the Oscars, but they chatted amiably about “Extremely Loud” and her adopted son, Louis.
