Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos are Really, Really Good
The Denver Broncos sure had a good first month to the 2013 NFL season. They pretty much destroyed their first four opponents, including the Ravens, last season’s Super Bowl winners. And the hottest Bronco on this red hot team has been quarterback Peyton Manning.
Manning’s career was in doubt two years ago when he missed the season with a neck injury, but he put any doubts to rest last season when he passed for nearly 4700 yards had had 37 touchdown passes. He’s already passed for 16 touchdowns (and has no interceptions) in just four games, which includes the seven he tossed against Baltimore in the season opener. His quarterback rating is a whopping 138.0.
Denver is at Dallas on October 6th, and then hosts the hapless, and hopeless, Jacksonville Jaguars on the 13th. The Jaguars established themselves as the worst team in the league in September, scoring just 31 points in four losing efforts. The Broncos reserves will probably see a lot of action there. It gets more difficult after that, with Denver taking on Manning’s old team the Colts in Indianapolis. The Bronco’s most difficult stretch will be November 17th to December 1st, when Denver is at New England in between two games with division rival Kansas City, another undefeated team through September.
