Ndamukong Suh to the Rescue

Detroit Lions defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh has a reputation as a nasty, often dirty player in the NFL, which people, a reputation that some of those who know him say is undeserved.  Suh showed that he can be the good guy, too, on the set of his off season gig, a new reality show called Splash.

Splash is a celebrity diving competition, and Suh is one of the participants.  Others competing include former Miss Alabama, Katherine Webb (the girlfriend of Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron made famous by sportscaster Brent Musburger’s public drooling during the BCS Championship game);  Kendra Wilkinson, who makes a living appearing on reality shows;  Drake Bell, from Nickelodeon’s Drake and Josh; Nichole Eggert of Baywatch; and comedian Louie Anderson.

We look forward to seeing Ms. Webb and Ms. Wilkinson in bathing suits but, thankfully, the rotund Anderson will not be wearing a Speedo.  Actually, Louie might want to ask himself if he’s cut out for this at all.

It seems Anderson was practicing his dives and became so exhausted he couldn’t get out of the pool and kept falling back in the water.  Suh and Greg Louganis, Olympic diver and coach for the celebrities, noticed Anderson’s plight and pulled him out of the pool.  Anderson spit up some water, but recovered and is doing fine.

Splash will premier March 19th on ABC. Reports that Kareem Abdul-Jabbar would be on the show were denied by the former L.A. Lakers star on his Twitter. Too bad; a seven foot plus diver would make for an interesting sight.
