Los Angeles Kings Close Out November With Win over Washington Capitals
Marian Gaborik scored his first two goals of the season and goalie Jonathan Quick had 27 saves as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Washington Capitals in DC 5-2 on November 30th. The victory was the third in a row for L.A., and the Kings entered December in first place in the NHL’s Pacific Division with a record of 15-8-3 (33 points). Not bad considering the team lost seven of eight earlier in the month.
Quick improved his record to 12-8-1. pretty good considering that earlier skid and his goals against average is now 2.27, or almost almost exactly his lifetime GAA. Having a healthy Quick in the net has helped a lot this season. Last season, Quick played in only 17 games due to a lower body injury and the Kings finished out of the playoffs with 86 points. Two years ago, Quick was 40-23-5 in 68 games and the Kings were 2nd in the Pacific Division with 102 points before losing to San Jose in the playoffs.
