Knicks and Warriors Stave Off Elimination
Both the New York Knicks and Golden State Warriors trailed 3-1 going into Game 5 of their NBA Conference Semifinals on May 10th, and both came up with victories to keep their series and title hopes alive.
It did not start out well for the Knicks. The visiting Miami Heat got off to a 24-14 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. But the Knicks came back to lead by as many as 19 points in the third quarter and came away with a 112-103 win. Jalen Brunson led the way with 38 points, R.J. Barrett scored 26, and Julius Randall added 24 for New York. The series returns to Miami for Game 6 on May 12th.
In San Francisco, Stephen Curry scored 27, Andrew Wiggins had 25, and Draymond Green scored 20 and had 10 rebounds as the defending NBA champion Golden State Warriors kept their repeat hopes alive with a 121-106 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers. Six Warriors scored in double figures. LeBron James led the Lakers with 25 and Anthony Davis had 23 for the Lakers. Game 6 of this series is in Los Angeles on May 12th.
