George Bush is a Grandpa

Former President George W. Bush has become a grandfather. His 31-year-old daughter Jenna Bush Hager, gave birth to her first child, a daughter, on Saturday night in New York City. The proud daddy is Henry Hager.

The proud grandfather announced the birth in a statement Sunday. “Laura and I are thrilled to announce the birth of our grandchild,” read the Bush family’s statement. “We met our beautiful granddaughter today. Jenna and Mila are healthy. And our family is elated.”

Carrying on a family tradition, the baby was named for both of her grandmothers: Margaret Laura Hager. Mila is the affectionate combination of the two names.

Jenna is herself named after her maternal grandmother, Jenna Hawkins Welch, while her twin sister Barbara is named after her paternal grandmother, former First Lady, Barbara Bush.
