We only had one game this week where one other contestant joined Matt in responding correctly in FJ! Matt actually put down the right answer to the two clues that ended up being triple stumpers. Then he second guessed himself and crossed off the right answer for a wrong one! If not for that, it would have been one right in 4 games. Friday’s clue was the hardest for me. I only got one of the women. Thursday’s clue was the easiest. I saw that movie when it came out back in the day. I wasn’t exactly a big fan of it but I remember all the hoopla surrounding it and, of course, Moby Dick was a dead giveaway.

Jeopardy! champs, week of August 9, 2021

Matt Amodio won every game in the last week of Season 37. In a bit of déjà vu, he lost a bundle on FJ! ($34,000) on Monday. But, like last week when he lost $37,000, he already had a runaway so it was all good. Tuesday and Wednesday were also runaways for Matt. That brought him up to 11 consecutive runaway games. Thursday and Friday were not runaways when Matt faced stiffer competition but he pulled out a win on both days and finished the season with 18 games under his belt and $574,801 accumulated winnings. All eyes will be on the Season 38 premiere when Matt will return for his 19th game.

$159,601 was donated to Joe Buck’s charity, KidSmart.
