Niki Peters (Berkeley), Sam Deutsch (USC) and Sarah Dubnik (Pittsburg) were the finalists who emerged from the first three semi-final games this week. On Thursday, it looked like it was going to come down to a battle between Sam and Sarah until Niki surged forward into second place near the end of Double Jeopardy! on Thursday.
On Friday, Sam Deutsch became the winner when he came up with the only answer that was correct in Final Jeopardy! Besides the $100,000 grand prize and his trophy, Sam also got a congratulatory letter from the Vice-President of the United States.

Congrats to Sam on his victory! And that letter from Biden? Sweet!
In a timed game, I have no problem with a player’s pace over-riding an announcer’s superfluous comments: even Trebek.
Because I’m surprised that the video came up.
Well, I think it’s very inspirational to any future player who finds him/herself in a distance third in the second round. I always like it when a player who is far behind doesn’t give up.
FYI, Jeopardy has a 4+-minute video recap of the 2-day final online. It has part of Niki’s big move in it and even includes that Yeezus clue if you like that better.
The Youtube video should be deleted.
