NOTABLE AMERICAN WOMEN: In her autobiography she tells of a rather “singular coincidence”, that one of her Swiss ancestors was a teacher of the deaf show

We started this week with a clue no one got. It was undoubtedly the week’s toughest clue. Three of the remaining clues had to do with an American national monument and well-known Americans. Therefore, the British poem from the 19th century was, in my opinion, the hardest clue of the week.

3x champ Drew Basile was back at the first podium on Monday. He proceed to win the first 4 games of the week, qualifying for the next Tournament of Champions on Tuesday. He added $76,319 to last week’s $53,282, making him a 7x champ with a grand total of $129,601. Drew was defeated on Friday by Cat Pisacano, who won $11,500.

Jeopardy! paid out $87,819 to 2 winners this week. $25,000 went to the runners-up. $3,000 of that went to Drew for finishing in second place on Friday but, again, that’s a consolation prize for not winning.

Here is the TV Catch Phrases category from Friday’s game.

Reminder: Alex Trebek is being honored with a Forever stamp by the U.S. Postal Service. The stamps will be released on July 22, the anniversary of Trebek’s birthday.
