PORTS: 50 years ago Vin Scully announced he got “a standing ovation in the Deep South” for breaking a longtime record show

Friday’s clue was a home run for baseball fans, even though English teachers were likely horrified at the vague pronoun in the clue. The easiest for me was the BRANDS FJ! Thursday’s clue in AUTHORS’ WIVES on was the hardest. No one got it and when the answer was revealed, it was no wonder.

13x champ Adriana Harmeyer was back on Monday. She won that game and Tuesday’s but was sent home by Drew Basile on Wednesday. So Adriana finished as a 15-day champ with winnings totaling $349,600. Drew was a 3x champ by the end of Friday’s game. He is now a 3x champ $53,282

Adriana won $50,600 this week. $25,000 went to the runners-up and $2,000 for finishing last on Wednesday. I don’t consider the $2,000 winnings. It’s a consolation prize for not winning. Whatever, it put Adriana over the $350K mark.

Here is the Icons on Stamps category from Friday’s game.

Ken Jennings also announced that Alex Trebek is being honored with a Forever stamp by the U.S. Postal Service. The stamps will be released on July 22, the anniversary of Trebek’s birthday.
