Final Jeopardy Clues: 3-2 to 3-6-20

Here are the Final Jeopardy clues and daily payouts for the week of March 2 through 7, 2020.

Mon, Mar 2 – Correct answers: 0

Tue, Mar 3 – Correct answers: 1
CHILDREN’S BOOKS: This book was published in Latin as “Virent Ova! Viret Perna!!” show

Wed, Mar 4 – Correct answers: 2
20th CENTURY ARTISTS: This artist who lived from 1904 to 1989 had a first name that means “savior” in Spanish show

Thu, Mar 5 – Correct answers: 0

Fri, Mar 6 – Correct answers: 2
21ST CENTURY MOVIES: After its initial release in 2016, it became the first major motion picture to be dubbed in Tahitian show

There certainly were some surprising results this week. We thought Wednesday’s Artist clue was the easiest, with Tuesday’s Children’s Book a close runner-up. We also thought they’d both go 3 out of 3. Then there are the 2 triple stumpers. Monday’s was the hardest of those 2. More than one wrong answer could easily come to mind. As for Thursday’s, we hope aspiring players at least read synopses of the works of H.G. Wells. One thing I’ve noticed over the years about books– they rarely mention anything in the clue that’s not in the beginning of the book.

Jeopardy! champs, week of February 24, 2020

2x champ Aaron Goetsch came back for his 3rd game on Monday but lost to Bruce Lou. He lost to Mike Upchurch the very next day and, on Wednesday, Paul Trifiletti took over. Paul finished the week as a 3x champ with $61,400 to his credit. He’ll be back on Monday.

Here is “The Saints” category from Friday’s game. I was surprised that Paul didn’t bet more on his Daily Double and go for the lead at that point. Ultimately, it didn’t matter. He finished in the lead anyhow.
