Various mishaps prevented better results in Final Jeopardy! this week. On Monday, an otherwise correct response was missing a letter. On Tuesday, one player misunderstood the clue, and on Wednesday, only two players made it to the last round. I’m calling the Explorers clue the hardest. For some people, just the 1774 date was enough and that percentage may increase in the future. But the other clues had better hints. The World History clue was the easiest. For future reference, that capital city is third on an alphabetical list of African capitals. Nigeria’s is first and Ghana’s is second.

The second Champions Wildcard Tournament (Diamond) came to an end on Wednesday after Emily Sands, Jilana Cotter and Aaron Craig crossed swords in a 2-day battle. Although it is not always the case, Emily’s big lead in the first final match proved insurmountable and she was the winner. Then the third Champions Wildcard (Clubs) quarterfinals began. Two semi-finalists emerged: Jen Jazwinski and Dennis Chase. They need 9 semi-finalists altogether, so we’re gonna be looking at 7 more quarterfinals before we see Jen and Dennis again!

There was no primetime Celebrity Jeopardy! this week. The next match will be on 11/15/23. In the meantime, here is the hilarious “Horse, Hog or Dog” category from the 11/1/23 Celebrity Jeopardy! game.
