TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
WHO IS IAN FLEMING?
From Who Was the Real James Bond? on The National WW2 Museum’s website: “In May 1939, Rear Admiral John Godfrey, Director of Naval Intelligence (DNI) recruited [Ian] Fleming to be Godfrey’s personal assistant. Fleming’s code name was ’17F,’…. He had no real naval experience or intelligence training but his travels and experience as a journalist proved useful. Perhaps most useful was Fleming’s great personal charm.” It’s a fascinating account of Ian Fleming’s early life, his career in British intelligence and how that experience influenced his spy novels starring “Bond, James Bond.”

David got it right. He bet a token $3.00 and finished with $4,003.
Pam got it right, too. She bet a big $13,995 and finished with $27,995.
Cris thought it was Orwell. Of course, he did not put his runaway in Jeopardy! He only lost $221 and won the game with the remaining $29,579. Cris Pannullo is the new Jeopardy! champ.

I didn’t see the show, so can’t say for sure, but I really think there’s something about the Friday show, the 5th taping of the day, that’s a bit of a hex on multi-day champions. Of course there are other factors such as the speed and knowledge of the challengers, and the familiarity of the categories. Mental weariness might be a real thing.
I agree, Howard. Having good stamina is necessary for a long run. I’m sure we’d all agree that players who win more than 10 games have above average stamina.
Cris played a very good game and it seemed to me at some point, David conceded while Pam persevered. She very well could have won if Cris didn’t have a runaway!
A slam dunk for FJ, and yet Chris wrote ‘Orwell’. Anyhow, Chris is the next Jeopardy champion.
Orwell did work with the British government though.
Yes, but given the context used here, that distinction would have clearly fallen on Ian Fleming
Yes, but clearly not clearly to everyone 😁
