WHAT ARE THE PARAGUAY & URUGUAY RIVERS?
Here’s an excerpt from Social Studies for Kids that mentions the two South American rivers referred to in the clue: “The Parana is the 14th-longest river in the world, flowing 2,485 miles across southeastern South America. It begins at the junction of the Paranaiba and the Rio Grande rivers, flows southwest to the Paraguay River, then south and east through Argentina to the Uruguay River and the Rio de la Plata.”
Storyteller.com has a list of the 12 longest rivers in South America. At 3,030 miles (4,880 km), the Paraná is the second longest (after the Amazon, of course). The Paraguay River, at 1,675 miles (2,695 km), comes in at No. 6. At 1,142 miles (1,838 km), the Uruguay is No. 12.
Sam thought it was the Congo & Zimbabwe. He lost his $7,700 bet and finished with $100.
Emily only got as far as Panama. That cost her $6,000 and left her with $2,800.
David wrote down Peru & Ecuador. He lost his $3,001 bet but won the game with the $11,599 he had left. David Sibley’s 3-day total is $55,799.

I knew I had an article on here somewhere that had something to do with one of those rivers. It was the Uruguay in this article Where the Rivers Meet. — it’s No. 7 on the list and the image is at about 0.54 in the video. There’s an interesting Jeopardy! clue about Uruguay on there too.
What a bummer. Lots of missed responses on the game show tonight, and a triple stumper to boot. Actually, I fared rather well until FJ.
This clue somehow brought me back to the memories of the Around the World Trivia where there is a topic about South America and the rivers as well.
And we got another triple stumper this week.
