WHAT IS THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE?

The Sydney Opera House officially opened on 10/20/1973. The Opera House devotes an entire section to its history, noting that it “is the youngest cultural site ever be included on the World Heritage List and one of only two cultural sites to be listed during the lifetime of its architect, Jørn Utzon (1918-2008).” The Eighth Wonder opera, referred to in the clue, which tells the building’s story, premiered at the Opera House on 10/14/1995.

Gabe got it right. He bet it all and doubled his score to $22,400 bet.

Jason is a superb player, and should do well when he returns. Not quite as good as James, Ken or Brad though. He really should have lost last week when both opponents bet improperly in FJ.

  3. Elan Xu says:

I’m upset that Jason Zuffranieri couldn’t win his 20th game like Julia Collins did.

If Gabe had missed the last clue of DJ! on which he rung in, it would have been another lock for Jason($10,400 to $21,000). He was taking a chance if he didn’t know the last clue of DJ! cold.

    • VJ says:

yeah, true. He got to $10,800 and broke the lock on the $400 Calvin Broadus clue (it’s on the extra clues). Christine got the next one and he rang in with the answer to the last $400 clue in Animal Anatomy..

  5. VJ says:

Ah, well, I was truly hoping that Jason would win today and tomorrow to set a new record. James’ run ended in a similar way– so close to a new record.

Congrats to Gabe for knowing FJ! for the win.

Jason Zuffranieri finally lost. Gabe Brison-Trezise defeated him today, as a giant killer.

  7. Richard Corliss says:

    See you in 2021, Jason.

  8. Lou says:

Well Jason had a fantastic run for 19 days. Three streakers and now, let’s see if Gabriel can start a long run. I really was hoping for a triple solve today. But still, the next toc should give jason plenty of time to prepare. This was quite a game today VJ but if only the hint the land down under would have worked, maybe the others will get it., what do you think VJ?
