WHAT IS SUE?

Although it is not known whether Sue the T.rex was male or female, the specimen was named after the woman who discovered it: paleontologist and fossil collector, Sue Hendrickson.

Per Sue’s page on Chicago’s Field Museum of Natural History, during a 1990 commercial excavation trip in South Dakota, “Hendrickson spotted a few large vertebrae jutting out of an eroded bluff and followed her hunch that there were more beneath the surface. In the end, it took six people 17 days to extract the dinosaur’s bones from the ground where SUE was discovered.” There are photos of Sue’s reassembled bones, said to be the most complete of over 30 existing T. rex skeletons, as well as why Sue’s discovery is so important.

Rob thought it was Louis. He lost $2,800 and finished with $3,400.

Deanna got it right. She added $4,000 to her score and finished with $16,200.

Pam came up with Lucy. She lost $8,000, dropping her down to $10,000. These scores will be added to tomorrow’s scores and, of course, the highest score will take the top prizes.
