I would venture to say that French Impressionist artist Claude Monet is most famous for his “Water Lilies” series, although other notable series include Haystacks, Rouen Cathedrals, Houses of Parliament and the Seine River. Back in October 2014, the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston had “Monet and the Seine: Impressions of a River” on exhibit until the end of January 2015. They still have a slideshow of the paintings online. They say: “The celebrated river captivated Monet more than any other theme, inspiring a vast number of paintings and surpassing even his defining series of water lilies by more than 100 works.”WHO IS CLAUDE MONET?
It’s also interesting that this Monet quote continues with “I built myself a studio in a boat. It was a sort of quite large cabin: one could sleep there. I lived there, with my material, spying on the effects of light from one dusk to another.” Now that’s dedication!
Harriet bet $8,500 and finished with $17,100.
Winston bet it all and finished with $17,200.
Luigi bet $200 and won the game with $18,000 even. His 4-day total is $115,200.
3 triple stumpers in the whole game:
DOG NAMES ($600) This 5-letter word meaning “wanderer” was popularized as a dog name by a 1905 silent film
LITERARY CHARACTERS ($1200) It’s the ironically happy-sounding name of the Commander’s barren wife in “The Handmaid’s Tale”
($1600) These 2 migrant workers dream of owning a farm with rabbits in Steinbeck’s “Of Mice and Men”, but things don’t go as planned
2 years ago: TWO of the players got this FJ in “Notable British Names”
Published in 1881, “The Formation of Vegetable Mould Through the Action of Worms, with Observations on their Habits” was his last & one of his bestselling books show

Great game yesterday!
I forget the clue details, but Ken asked Luigi to clarify a response, which led him to give a completely different answer. I don’t think Luigi would have given a correct response without the “nudging”, so I’m surprised it was not overturned.
I think the clue you are referring to was in “The Law” category. I questioned that one myself. It was the $1600 clue:
“All states have implied consent laws, so applying for a driver’s license means agreeing to let police test this”
Luigi said What is alcohol– breathalyzer test. Ken accepted that and corrected it to “blood alcohol level”. Imo, that was particularly weird when later on, Ken jumped right on Harriet’s LeGuin response, when she would have had it if given an extra second.
Congrats to Luigi for Game 4 win. Glad to see Ken back as Host. Loved the category Dog Names! I grew up with Rin Tin Tin and Lassie. Also, thanks as usual to VJ for the interesting posts on Final Jeopardy. I usually learn something new from them.
So Luigi won his 4th game and now he finds himself on the TOC tracker for the following Tournament of Champions because the field is already locked in for the 30th Tournament of Champions coming up soon.
