That true DD wager by Sophie was a great bet. Way too often you see someone in that position wager about 3000, as if they were going to have a chance to come back with 1800.
Richard, do you mean ” If you guys ever get married, will your last name be Sledgechop or Porkhammer? Whoops, the doorman will be right back!”
Yes.
This was evidently a generation gap clue. It’s like talking about a manual typewriter brand name, imo, to these contestants. Odd but I still remember Betty Ford’s handle “First Mama.” But, I was around in those days. lol
Btw, congrats champ. Good game.
I was in an elementary school classroom the other day, and the teacher remarked (after giving the same instructions repeatedly) that she sounded like a broken record. The kids could not have had less of an idea about what she was saying.
Clearly overestimated the difficulty level on this clue (“3/3”)… but, luckily for Pranjal, it was a runaway. And with a last name like that (thanks Johnny!), how could you expect him to lose?
Pranjal again does the unique “321” bet… well, everyone has a quirky pattern, I guess.
About the Wrong Answers: Well, the wrong answers were all forms of communication, to be fair, but how was the “10-4” not a giveaway? Did anyone think the clue was that difficult?
@VJ: Not often that I ask about clues, but would you happen to have the $2000 clue for “Electoral College”? Thank you.
@Mathwiz — that $2K Electoral College clue is one of the 12 I just posted a link to. :):)
And of course at the exact minute I respond to your post you respond to mine…
In any case, thanks VJ.
I think perhaps they were just too young to know the answer and probably never even heard of it. That’s my theory, anyway.
Perhaps they think of CB radio as a hobby, and not something the president would designate a day for.
After Pranjal got that first round DD and answered it, I could hardly believe my ears when Trebek said “Yeah, almost an obvious one. Softball.” LOL!

Of course at the exact minute I ask for the $2000 clue for “Electoral College”, you post it… good timing.
The CB Radio reminds me of the scene from iCarly episode iHurt Lewbert, where Spencer uses the CB radio to annoy 2 truckers, like telling them jokes, like this 1.
