i have no idea why, but for some reason, on friday 6-7-24, a previously aired episode of jeopardy was run in my area. i live in a detroit suburb and wonder if anyone else had this problem or if it was just a screw-up by the local station that shows jeopardy in my area???

    • VJ says:

I’m not in that area so I don’t know why they showed you an old episode. You could call your local channel but, as you say, it was probably a mistake on their part.

It’s a bummer when that happens. The contestant in the middle was from Michigan, though I don’t know how close he lived to your area.

You can always watch Friday’s Final Jeopardy! on Jeopardy’s YouTube channel.

    • Howard says:

Someone complained about that on the Jeopardy Facebook page. Didn’t say what area it was. I listen to a weekly Beatles syndicated radio show, and sometimes the local station plays the one from the week before.

  2. Rick says:

I did well in Jeopardy, but flubbed the FJ again. Actually, I picked Leonid Brezhnev since the Soviet leader and President Nixon had signed the Salt 1 treaty in Moscow during that same year.

  3. Howard says:

A more or less competitive game. Kevin definitely benefited from the Bible and Michigan categories, just as my conqueror did with Classical Music. I thought he handed Adriana a runaway win when he missed that not-difficult wind question, but he rebounded nicely to close it out.

Nixon’s visit to China was historic, so all they really had to know was the Chinese leader at the time. Two did.

Who hasn’t received many of those oversized mailers from the home-decor chain? I guess at least 3 people haven’t. Pretty sure it was Amogha who answered “Sex in the City” (also in the Sneak Peek on page 2), but the show’s title was “Sex AND the City.” I’ve probably seen every episode.

  4. VJ says:

I got a kick out of that ” hi-yo, Ag! Away!” clue šŸ¤£

    • Jacob Ska says:

@VJ, Me too. Those of us in a certain age group will remember watching the TV show. Regarding Adriana, she is so composed and adapts to each category with ease. If she gets a clue wrong she moves on showing no emotion. I like her ability to focus. A joy to watch imo.

      • VJ says:

The Lone Ranger comes on the TV channel GRIT.

The hi yo expression reappeared in 1981 in the Oak Ridge Bo)ys’ hit song Elvira.

That show also made Kemosabe popular.

        • Howard says:

There’s a very funny Far Side cartoon. The Lone Ranger, long retired, is sitting in his rocker reading an Indian-English dictionary. He sees that “Kemosabe” means “horse’s rear end” and says “What the hey!”

        • VJ says:

This was a first round clue in 1985:

FOREIGN PHRASES ($200) In “the Lone Ranger”, Tonto’s Indian term for “faithful friend”

  5. Kevin Cheng says:

Adriana is the first player of Season 4o to sweep a week. What a week it has been for Adriana.
