Putting myself in Bryan’s place, I believe he did some quick math on that last DD and bet $1100 to give himself $9300 to Ilena’s $4600, and a lock game unless she gets the final $800 clue or if he misses it. In hindsight, any wager over $2600 would have ensured a runaway as long as he didn’t miss the final $800 clue. It’s tough to compute all that in the space of 5 seconds, of course.

I congratulate Ilena for getting Japan. That was difficult. The 1883 pirate tale was a cinch, and the Andrea Gail clue is a very well-known book and movie. Not to mention a common expression. I did not like those Venn diagrams at all. The juice brand; biggest name in motor homes; # of House votes; the great Persian; and the fluffy stuff all were gettable.

So, work had me bogged down so badly, I had to watch Thursday and Friday together. This first round for Friday was ATROCIOUS. Just a travesty. I do SO hope Double J! is better! About to find out!

Without differentiating between clues the contestants got and triple stumpers, I missed 17 clues in this game but I got FJ! right 😁

    • VJ says:

P.S. the reason I got the motor homes TS was because my brother sent me an email yesterday mentioning a friend of our father’s who had a motor home from that particular brand.

Today we had 20 triple stumpers. The month of June was the toughest material ever. Bryan should have wagered 2,700 on that last daily double but only bet small and unfortunately he didn’t get that last clue to secure a runaway.
