Sarah looked like a contender in the first round, then stood silently until late in the game. Adam left them in his wake with an impressive array in round 2. He surprised me when he bet small on the last DD and FJ, both with big leads. He could have won an additional $10K in Final. I got Final right away because of familiarity with Palatine Hill. Also totally guessed right on the purple mountain DD. Knew all the college towns including Dartmouth’s, and dis- words. Blanked completely on the author’s characters.
Adam likes to bet low when he doesn’t like the category.
Ken likes to say that looked like a guess but it’s right, and not a bad guess when it’s wrong.
Did you or anyone else notice that graphic at the end of the show Thursday or Friday? It was a photo of a young woman with the annotation “Kyra Samson 1998=2026.” No explanation, so I looked it up. She was a production assistant, formerly worked for Bravo/Watch What Happens Live. Last September the show was taping in Chicago (I don’t recall why) and she was acting out of sorts. Michael Davies called her father and she was taken to a hospital. She had a large brain tumor: glioblastoma. Went through all sorts of treatments but to no avail. There’s a fundraiser for research trying to raise $400K and it’s almost all there already.
I don’t watch the end credits, Howard, but I saw it on YouTube. Didn’t know about the fundraiser. Thanks for posting it.
Well, it was obviously another clear runaway for Adam, and which had occurred fairly quickly in the game. I got into the game late, and flubbed the FJ. As for Paladin, that word was also used for the name of the gunslinger (starring Richard Boone) in the western TV series ‘Have Gun Will Travel’. Wire Paladin!
