I could have sworn there was a third triple stumper tonight but it is now escaping me…anyone recall a third? BTW if I remember anything at all I remember it being surprisingly easy…getting old ain’t easy!

    • Howard says:

Everyone notice how much tougher the clues are during the ToC? Tonight I got skunked by all 3 Doubles and FJ.

    • VJ says:

Gary, sometimes I miss a triple stumper but whether I do or not, I almost always only put 2 stumpers on the first page of the recap and the rest on the Page 2.

Today, I came up with 6 stumpers. There are 2 on the first page and 4 on the second. Then the Sneak Peek clues are repeated, this time with the answers.

  2. VJ says:

Fortune hasn’t exactly favored the bold in this Tournament with some players going bust on true Daily Doubles, but it sure worked out for Sam today. He rocked it!!

I was really surprised Veronica didn’t know this FJ!

    • Richard Corliss says:

You are right, VJ. A long streak of doesn’t translate to easily win the Tournament of Champions.

  3. Jeopardy! lover says:

Shocked that Sam Kavanaugh got up to $38,000! Definitely not what I expected since he had a runaway.

  4. Lou says:

Sam is pretty happy with the lead that he has right now. There is a chance that something might change tomorrow if Jennifer makes a comeback. He is makings it tough on his opponents today. Botany bay reminded me of Maggie May which rhymes here. Overall I think veronica can change her score around I hope. as long as she can remain in sync with the board

  5. Kevin Cheng says:

So far, Sam is sitting pretty with 38,000 which means that he will have a big lead going into tomorrow’s game and looked like Sam may win the Tournament of Champions but anything can happen tomorrow.

  6. Richard Corliss says:

Oh, boy. Sam is making it really tough for Veronica & Jennifer.

  7. JP says:

Looks like they’ve hit all the main categories for FJ in the tournament so far except film. I’m predicting an Oscars question tomorrow. Maybe Clint Eastwood.

    • Albert says:

The Final could be Oscars. They haven’t asked about U.S. Presidents/VPs nor the U.K. Monarchy in the Final Jeopardy so far. If Trebek were still host they would probably have a Final tomorrow related to France. Maybe the Final tomorrow will be about Astronomy/Space Exploration. Then again, they probably won’t ask about the U.K. Monarchy tomorrow since they asked about Britain today.

      • Howard says:

Too hard to predict the categories. Keep in mind that most contestants know all the presidents, state and world capitals, Shakespeare, films pretty solidly. The writers have ratcheted up the difficulty the whole two weeks. I can get FJ much of the time but have been stumped regularly all week.
