WHAT IS “ROLLING STONE”?
From The Current: “Today in 1967, The first issue of Rolling Stone magazine was published in San Francisco. It featured a photo of John Lennon on the cover, and it came with a free roach clip to hold a marijuana joint. The name of the magazine was inspired by three sources: the Muddy Waters song, the first rock ‘n’ roll record by Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones.”
The magazine’s iconic covers went on to inspire none other than Shel Silverstein to write “The Cover of the Rolling Stone”, which was recorded by Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show and hit the Top 10 in March 1973.
Wendy bet $4,200 and finished with $8,600.
Hannah bet $6,799 and finished with $13,599.
Ben bet $19,000 and won the game with an even $60,000. Ben Chan is BACK in a BIG way — his 4-day total is $129,001. Of course, we’ll be seeing Hannah in the next Tournament of Champions. I suspect and hope someone nominates Wendy for a second chance. She did what she could in a bad situation.
A triple stumper from each round:
ORDINAL NOVELS ($400) Dribble the pet turtle plays a role in this 1972 young adult book of “Tales”
QUICK OPERA ($2000) The title guy in this Verdi opera is the son of the King of Spain

I was wondering while watching – I wonder if Hannah leaned back a little bit. It didn’t look like she was struggling on the buzzer and Ben was just faster. To Ben’s credit, he knew what he was buzzing. However, it’s just ever so mildly irritating when he acts like he’s guessing – because, if he is guessing, he’s amazingly lucky. Still, a monster bet, just ’cause he can, is refreshing. Unlike other champs, he ain’t boring!
Wendy doesn’t deserve another shot at Jeopardy, especially when a person such as myself has never been given a first chance.
Ben really exposed what a weak champion Hannah really was.
Oh c’mon, Albert… if you got on the show and had to play against TWO people who had shown themselves to be capable of multiple runaway games, are you saying you wouldn’t feel you were unfairly disadvantaged?
Ben took no prisoners from the get-go. I’m assuming that when they scheduled him for May 15, they did not know he’d be opposing a ToC qualifier.
Poor Wendy from my current home city didn’t stand a chance.
FJ was a cinch for this old man who grew up in the hard rock era.
Stumpers too much for me, other than the Angie Harmon show.
Great run, Hannah Wilson. Sorry that things didn’t work out against Ben Chan, who dominated today’s game, but you did great. 8 wins and about $230,000. We’ll see you in the Tournament of Champions.
Tough break for Hannah, after being strong for the past 8 games she got crushed and burned big time against a returning co-champ Ben Chan who dominated the game after a month of hiatus. It wasn’t Hannah’s day today.
