  1. Trevor Panno says:

I thought Taotao was on his way to defeating Jamie.

  2. Howard says:

I thought the challengers were pretty good, knew a lot of clues I didn’t, but whatever chance they had went poof when Taotao went all-in on that tough DD (I was thinking arrondissements–he was so sure he was right–but I more or less knew those are districts in Paris). I can’t fault him for betting so much; you almost have to, to beat a super-champ. I don’t know squat about opera, but I knew FJ immediately, expected all 3 to know it too. As it played out, Taotao needed to be in the lead to dethrone Jamie, who wears something orange almost every day. Taotao was WAY too hyper for my liking. Wouldn’t want to watch him 26X.

Knew the secretary of war stumper and should have known that TV drama. Never saw it, but I know it got dreadful reviews. Those anagrams were slightly tricky but I did get the $800 one.

    • Howard says:

2nd DD was only one I got. I used the adjective form, but it still fit the clue.

    • VJ says:

I agree with everything you said, Howard, though I would add that arrondissements aren’t just in Paris. They are also subdivisions of departements. Re hyper — I told Nikki I wasn’t prepared for that level of enthusiasm.

The $800 anagram was the easiest. It was like the 2x word category yesterday though. They needed to get the hang of it. Too bad they didn’t have a player named Wright yesterday. Ken could have said “Right, Wright” or “Wrong, Wright!” 🤣 (That occurred to me today when I saw Wright King on “Wanted: Dead or Alive”)
