WHAT IS APPLE?

Business Insider has a 2016 article on the first 10 employees of Apple, Inc. It says that Michael Scott, the company’s first CEO, had to give out numbers to each employee for payroll purposes. Although Bill Fernandez is considered the first employee as opposed to a founder or investor, on the company payroll, he was No. 4 after co-founders Steve Wozniak and Steve Jobs, and “moneyman” Mike Markkula.

Megan got it right. She didn’t bet anything so she remained at $7,400.

Mark got it right, too. He bet $14,500, bringing him up to $29,100.

Lane came up with Hewlett-Packard. He lost his $8,399 bet and had $14,601 left. That made Mark Ashton the new Jeopardy! champ.

The contestants struggled a bit with the Solar System category, but it was a great game overall.

So glad Mark won tonight..that stodgy Lane thought he was sooo smart–and would cringe whenever he lost! Not a good loser.

Never was a fan of Apple Inc. Their phones don’t work well and they love to cheat customers out of money. This is why I.would never buy any Apple products I’m the future ,VJ. Also I hope you don’t have any electronics from Apple? Plus did you use Apple computers in elementary school VJ?

    • VJ says:

@Lou, nope, never had any and certainly not in school. I graduated from elementary and high school before Steve Jobs

Lane knew he blew it when Alex said “The two people he introduced to each other both had the same first name.” He threw his head back and mouthed, if not exclaimed, something.

I had a feeling lane wouldn’t get this one but I thought he knew something about company products. Where did he get hewlett Packard from? Not sure if that company is still in business or not, but that was a bad guess. I hope Mark can have a streak of wins like Alan Lin did.

        • VJ says:

well, I have no idea even though it was predicted this morning that one player would say that. But kudos to Lane on his 2 big DDs all the same and to Megan for her last minute rebound and to Mark for beating back a runaway and winning. It was a really competitive game!

Thank you for mentioning my morning comment, VJ. It’s nice to know that it was read and remembered. And that it was spot-on. 🙂

        • VJ says:

You’re welcome, klm. Not everyone reads Spoiler Talk so we usually do the congrats on the following Spoiler Talk. It was spot on and I gotta tell ya, I was amazed! Felt kinda bad for Lane, though I would have felt bad for Mark if he lost, too. They are both very smart.

  4. William Weyser says:

I think Lane accidentally pulled a Cliff Clavin. The $8,399 wager does force Mark to get it right, which Mark did, but the problem is that if he missed, which Lane did, he would have been left with $14,601, Megan, who was $1,000 short of being in contention, doubled up and got it right, and Mark missed in any event, then Megan would have won. Lane, you don’t want to let an already eliminated player back into contention. Sorry that I said that, Lane. It’s just that I can’t catch a break.
