Not a banner night for me. Missed all the DDs and Final. Tossed between Keats and Yeats, not certain if they were both Brits. For some reason I thought Christa McAuliffe for that last DD.
Not sure why two tied players after FJ can’t split the $5K in prizes. Thayer was given the $3K portion, I assume because he led T going into Final. He could have avoided the tie by betting $12K, but that turned out to be moot.
Cringed a bit at the Davis-Crawford film answer by Jamie. I saw it on TV decades ago. Another cringe at the MSG answer on the Beatles clue. I could have attended that show, but I’d seen them a year earlier at a much smaller venue and couldn’t hear much of anything. I paid $5.95. At Shea, they were positioned behind 2nd base, very far from the fans in the seats. Evidently the recorded sound from that show was so poor that they secretly re-recorded the songs afterward and dubbed them into the film of the concert(s).
Knew the “Sex and the City co-star as well as that creepy 1962 film.
It says above that Pranit found the JEOPARDY! round Daily Double. Impressive, as Pranit wasn’t on the show today.
Well, it’s easily fixed. Nikki does the DDs most of the time to help me out beause she’s a great kid.. Sometimes, l’m not feeling so great so I don’t catch every mistake we make. We do appreciate the corrections though, especially when they are poInted out nicely.
Anyway, she did say Jamie in the bet part
To paraphrase an old cable TV slogan my kids watched, Nikki Rocks!
Thanks, Howard !
I completely agree with Howard, Nikki! You totally rock, like mother, like daughter!
Thanks for both of us, Rhonda. So sweet of you to say so.
You’re very welcome, VJ!
Well, it looks like Thayer is another strong candidate to get a second chance, esp since Jamie couldn’t get a runaway.
I never thought I’d see the day when 3 people on the Alex Trebek stage never heard of the Crawford/Davis cult classic. Crawford wasn’t even in Jamie’s guess of “All About Eve”, a film that won multiple Oscars, including Best Supporting Actor for my man, George Sanders.
Can’t believe the contestants the other day didn’t know the Smothers Brothers–and they showed their picture! Horrors.
That was the first clue they had on those boys in 7 years!
