IMO, it wasn’t a tough Final, as Lizzie was from Massachusetts and not far from Salem.

In 2014 I won from Lifetime TV a trip to Fall River, MA, which included 2 nights in the Lizzie Borden House, a B&B. Very enjoyable, and I met some cool people from other places. My room was the one where her stepmother was axed. The dress Elizabeth Montgomery wore in a TV movie about Lizzie was there in the room. Nothing in the home was original, though. All furnishings were made to look as if they were from that period.

So I can’t say for certain if I’d have gotten this one right without that background, but might have.

Regarding FJ, I do recall those ax murders. Unfortunately, I just couldn’t come up with the woman’s name.

  3. Alfred Robert Hogan says:

Rare error by our gracious host. Lizzie Borden’s parents were murdered in MA on Thursday 4 August 1892 and Lizzie Borden’s trial commenced on Monday 5 June 1893 and she was thanks be acquitted of the axe murders on Tuesday 20 June 1893. 🙂

Alfred, I don’t know why I typed 1873 instead of 1893 in the info on the reporting, but I just fixed that. Thankfully, I didn’t make that mistake under the map on the second page, when showing the locations of the murder, the trial and Salem

I am just floored at the big bets that Karson and Hannah made today on final. I thought one of them would defeat Maureen today even when he was still in the lead. This is probably not the best betting strategy unless he was certain that Maureen would get this wrong. Also was Karson going for Ansel Adams or maybe John Adams or Douglas Adams the author of the hitchhiker’s Guide to the galaxy vJ? Happy to see Maureen win again today and I hope she gets that fifth win.

    • VJ says:

Lou, I have no idea which Adams Karson had in mind. Yesterday I was hoping Maureen would win today and tomorrow and there would be fewer triple stumpers. I’m happy half my wish came true today, although it sure looked like Maureen was a goner with a third place finish and a Final Jeopardy! clue that many of us thought was extremely easy.

    I’m speechless. 🤔🤔🤔
