What evolved into a two-man battle quickly disintergrated into a rout. Lauren was a bystander for most of the second round. I did remarkably well tonight overall. Got first 2 DDs and should have easily nailed the 3rd. But I said Acropolis for FJ. Surprised no one knew the “out” that went with fair play.

Kevin reminded me a lot of Matt Jackson. Young, dead serious, rapid-fire responses. But that DD wager was idiotic. I know he went for the knockout punch but it cost him a very likely win. If it were up to me, I’d never reward him with a 2nd chance. No way, no how.

We’re on the same page on Second Chances again, Howard. Shooting yourself in the foot and/or getting FJ wrong should be grounds for disqualification.

  2. Rick says:

It was a great game, and Kevin had a virtually insurmountable lead at one point. However, he bet the store in DJ, and lost bigtime, and to which he never recovered. Anyways, I went with the Jefferson Memorial for FJ.

As for Stonehenge, I wouldn’t have necessarily referred to those stones as pillars, and in any case, those stones were white (not gray). While we’re on the subject, many Englanders still believe that Merlin was the one who moved those stones in Salisbury Plains, England.. Personally, I believe that was the case, but Merlin was more of a great engineer rather than the fabled King Arthur’s magician. No one but no one could have moved those stones in earlier times as the technology to move those stones at such distances did not exist.

And we got another triple stumper in the final this week as the Wednesday losing streak continues.

  4. MTM says:

I first thought Parthenon, then went to Stonehenge when that proved wrong.

The Wrangel Island clue echoed the Final Jeopardy from 1/30/2026, just 3 1/2 weeks ago.

  6. VJ says:

I linked to that synchronized show at Congaree Park because I thought it was so cool (even though I wanted to link to this hand puppet I bought my grandkids, which is also cool.)

I was living in Texas for 3 years before I realized there aren’t any down here. I was sitting outside one summer evening and I said “something’s missing” to myself. It took me a few minutes to realize what I was expecting to see. The next day I asked my boss about it and he confirmed that there ain’t none down here.

  7. Kevin Cheng says:

Tough luck for Kevin on that last daily double, he played a great game and ran the poetry category but he went for a big bet of 15,200 and it didn’t work out and was out of contention. He would have likely won the game if things worked out well for Kevin on the final daily double. Maybe we may see him in Second Chance 2027 because of performing well but tough daily double luck.
