The Final Jeopardy question (12/4/2015) in the category “Religion in America” was:
The Dakotas and Minnesota are the 3 states with the largest % of residents identifying as this denomination.
New champ Kelly Wright won $6,700 yesterday. Today she tries for a second win against these new challengers: Jon Rossiter, from San Diego, CA; and Alexandra Whitehill Smith, from Columbia, SC.
Round 1: Jon found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Gardens” under the $1,000 clue with only one clue left that we just weren’t going to see. He was in the lead with $5,400, $1,200 more than Alexandra in second place. He bet $2,000 and thought it was a peacock. That was WRONG.
Befitting the name, Pennsylvania’s Chanticleer Gardens feature design motifs of this bird. show
Alexandra finished in the lead with $4,200. Jon was second with $3,400 and Kelly was last with $600.
Round 2: Jon found the first Daily Double in “Canadian Landmarks” under the $1,600 clue. He was in a tie with Alexandra at $4,600. They both had $800 less than the lead held by Kelly. He bet $3,000 and thought it was Hudson Bay. That was WRONG.

Kelly found the last Daily Double in “Colorful Expressions” under the $800 clue. In the lead with $7,800, she had $1,200 more than Alexandra in second place. She bet $1,000 and she was RIGHT.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.
Adherents.com has a list of the Top 20 States with the highest percentage of people self-identifying as Lutherans. North Dakota (36.50%), Minnesota (33.90%) and South Dakota (30.30%) topped the list, with Wisconsin and Nebraska coming in 4th and 5th. These statistics are from 1990. FactChecker.com has an article showing that membership in the Lutheran church has declined 27% since 1987.
Jon got it right. He doubled his score to $13,600.
Kelly came up with Lakota. She lost her $7,100 bet and was left with $100.
Alexandra began to write Quakers, but didn’t quite get it all in. She lost her $2,001 bet. That left her with $11,399 and made Jon Rossiter the winner and new Jeopardy! champ.
2 years ago: NONE of the players got this FJ in “Historic Letters” and look at the complaints about the FJ clue being too hard! Nowadays we complain about it being too easy.
In April 1865, she wrote to Mary Lincoln: “I cannot remain silent… brokenhearted by the loss of my own beloved husband.” show

Paul Shaffer who is from Canada was the wrong response guessed for the Lombardo clue. 44/59 here.
Yesterday’s ‘Songs from Musicals” demented game is showing in my area right now. I changed the channel.
OK, by the looks of the recap, this game was better than yesterday’s. So my area was shortchanged this week, unless they show today’s game tomorrow instead of a rerun. In any respect, I got better things to do on a Saturday night.
“I got better things to do on a Saturday night” LOL!!
you should take a look at your station’s facebook, they might have a note about when it is airing or, if not, a bunch of angry comments!
FYI, Goya showed up today. Even though he wasn’t the topic of that Velasquez clue watch, he was mentioned in it. .
Like you said, he does get more J! love than Velasquez. By the way, have you ever seen the movie Goya’s Ghosts, came out, oh, 8 to 10 years ago? Good movie – kinda intense.
Yes, I did see it. Kinda intense — lol. That’s one way of putting it.
Unrelated, now I understand what you meant with your comment yesterday on the bubble wrap response (I read the clue on J Archive). Now I know what to to with it (after I’m done popping it)—save it for Thanksgiving!
Sing Along with Mitch, of course!
Remember the tune they used to play before the 4 o’clock movie started during the week? I used to love that tune, The Syncopated Clock,
Not at 4 o’clock, I was probably watching The Adventures of Superman (Great Caesar’s Ghost) in the 50s and later, Bandstand in the early 60s.
But I do remember that tune from the Late Show. I used to stay up and watch a lot of movies in my teens, except I was too “chicken” to make it through “The Birds” (a little fowl humor)..
I did make it through The Birds when I was a teenager, but I paid the price for it and was terrified for a long time afterwards.. Love your “fowl” humor, VJ.
Wow, Jon lost $5K in DDs today and he still had more going into FJ today than Kelly had yesterday.
@Jacob, do you agree that Alexandra should have gotten a “be more specific” on that “Colorful Expressions” bull clue. I didn’t think it was cool to just accept the color.
PS – I know you got Guy Lombardo too. LOL!
VJ, I got Guy Lombardo, too lol!
LOL! I was just laughing at that — how do they even think they will know Guy Lombardo?
That was just too much lol. How sad that I remember watching him on New Year’s Eve!
Aw It’s not sad, Guy was a cool guy. 🙂 🙂 What’s sad is how Million Dollar Movie used to play the same movie over and over on Sunday afternoon. I remember watching Mr. Lucky with Cary Grant 3 times one Sunday when I was about 8!
I was also a big Mitch Miller fan when I was a kid. All my kids know Be kind to your web-footed friends. LOL
