    CPAs never seem to last very long on jeopardy. I think it is due to long work hours, which cuts into study time. Also, the education for CPAs is limited to Business, which means CPAs don’t have the liberal arts background needed on jeopardy. This bodes very poorly for me as I am a CPA trying to get on the show one day

    Well, that was a nice big payout today for James, esp considering that he didn’t get any of the DD’s. Congrats to him.

    LINK: 10 more clues from the game

    @Lou, we don’t have any of that stuff. None of my kids were into Harry Potter, just my grandson and I doubt if he still has the books though I think he still has his Pokemon card collection. Yesterday, my 3-year old granddaughter couldn’t believe it when she was watching Blue’s Clues and we knew the words to the songs. “Now it’s time for so long but we’ll sing just one more song…”

    Well we finished off this final week of 2018 with a week of leader curses, and well we know Tom Clancy is the author of military novels since he isn’t from great Britain. Also VJ do you still keep a collection of Harry potter movies or books somewhere since your kids watched them previously? And John you heard of rainbow six, the pc game created by Tom Clancy himself? And I congratulate james on his big win so hopefully he will be able.to get a streak going and I would love to see all the clues played.

      @Lou
      That makes 2 of us. Must be frustrating for the players when clues are left, especially in a close game. James- I unfortunately doubt it. A second win max. I’m afraid.

  4. John B./I. says:

    Of course first of all as usual congratulations to James, our winner. Unfortunately I haven’t seen J yet, so I don’t know what kind of films he makes. Feature, animated, documentaries?
    The facts that the “author” is a woman and British to boot DID have the effect I feared on the solution rate. Probably the headslaps followed then. Heck, even I know who Harry Potter and J.K. Rowling are for crying out loud and I am CERTAINLY not at an age where books or films for children are the most tempting ones for me. Greg faltered in DJ but otherwise impressive scores by James and Kathryn.Plus the players got all DDs, so there’s another bright side.
    Let’s just close out this part of the season – sorry to say that I don’t give James more than 1 repeat at most , despite his performance today- because as you go on you face more and more different categories and experience is a factor. James seems to be very young, relatively speaking, so he might run into categories he never heard of. The longer he plays the more likely the chance of being stumped. 2019 will hopefully bring some fresh air to the contestant pool and erase some of the memories of season 34, and so far season 35 has not been much better either. The way things are going we might see Jackie Fuchs compete in the ToC without even being recalled. I hope we will see her either way !
    I also wish they would find a way to play all the clues all the time. Just one left today, but still. So just cut out 1 commercial or keep the video clues as short as possible or whatever it takes. Unplaid clues often change who wins the game.
    Have a great weekend everybody, the last of the old year!!
