Not airing till 130 am here, so it’s all recap for me. I almost swept the DDs/FJ for the 2nd day in a row, but missed the 3rd DD today. Knew where the American U is; it’s where Steve Kerr’s father was assassinated decades ago. Other stumpers were unkind. I was wrong on a few.

When a player is severely challenged and they duke it out to the end, a big payoff is usually in the offing.

Libby again came from behind, and remained the Jeopardy champion. Wow! What an act! Anyways, I performed about average in the game, and went with Cheryl Tiegs for Fj. As for Brooke Shields, I was never a fan of her films.

    • VJ says:

Libby had the lead going into FJ! “Come from behind” is when second place wins.

Gosh, I hate that expression! Nobody comes from behind to win. Second place only wins if the leader gets FJ! wrong or doesn’t bet enough (like when Seth Wilson bet $5 in his last game).

  3. Steve Bearss says:

That was a heck of a match between the two. Kevin how many superchamp killers go out on the next match if that’s something you know. Could be a fun matchup with Ron/ maybe actually Ray

    • VJ says:

Steve, here’s what I came up with. I’m sure Kevin will let us know if anything is amiss.

      One and Done Giant Killer:
      Nancy Zerg beat Ken Jennings
      Victoria Groce beat Dave Madden
      Diana Peloquin beat Arthur Chu
      Brian Loughnane beat Julia Collins
      Michael Baker beat Matt Jackson
      Scarlett Sims beat Austin Rogers
      Todd Lovell beat Alex Jacob
Margie Eulner Ott beat Seth Wilson
      Rhone Talsma beat Amy Schneider
      Andy Tirrell beat Cris Pannullo
      Gabe Brison-Trezise beat Jason Z

      • William Weyser says:

What about Nancy Donehower, who beat Jonathan Fisher?

        • VJ says:

Thanks, William. I’m going to double check all of the giant killers and add them to the stat pages for the champs. Not just the one-and-dones — all of them and how many games they won

  4. Kevin Cheng says:

Libby Jones is now the 8th giant killer not to be defeated the next day after taking down a superchampion who won 10 or more games. Eli has to be in the Second Chance 2027 because he had a big lead after the first round until Libby found her buzzer timing in Double Jeopardy! Libby will go up against Ron Lalonde tomorrow and I have a feeling that it’s going to be an exciting match tomorrow.

    • Jason says:

Somehow, my recording of Jeopardy!, scheduled daily and rerun on Saturday, got cancelled. I didn’t realize it today; I noticed yesterday, but wasn’t prudent enough to look today, figuring it was a one-off. It wasn’t. So, I only have VJ’s excellent summary, again.

I was 1/3 on DD but got FJ. I told myself, “If I recall, she went to Princeton”.

At least I scheduled it again!
