TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS ROBERT HARPER?

“Robert Harper was born in Oxford Township near Philadelphia, Pa., in 1718…. Traveling through Maryland on his way to the Shenandoah Valley, Harper proceeded to “The Hole” where the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers meet. Attracted by the ample waterpower and strategic location for travel and transport, Harper obtained a patent for 125 acres in 1751. Twelve years later, in 1763, the Virginia General Assembly established the town of “Shenandoah Falls at Mr. Harper’s Ferry.” (National Park Service)

Katie came up with Fulton. She bet and lost it all.

Michelle got it right. Her $3,801 bet brought her up to $10,001.

Sam started out with John Brown but must have realized he wasn’t born yet. He crossed it out and wrote down the correct response. His $3,500 bet brought him up to $12,500, today’s winning total. So we start out the week with a new champ and it’s Sam McLinn!

FJ Results: 12-14-15

Put a little nonsense in your life: The $800 clue in “Something to Read” stumped all the players: “At their wedding in an Edward Lear poem, this beastly bride & groom “dined on mince & slices of quince.” It is pretty much Lear’s most famous poem, although his others are equally enjoyable, or even better depending on what makes you giggle.

Why was Katie’s occupation given only the vague term “paraprofessional”? Is that PC for Administrative Asst., formerly known as Private Secretary,?
