So, that near the end “corpus calloskum”, I heard that, and wholly expected the reversal. Interestingly, during the bumper where, today, they showed the two remaining contestants meeting their wagers, Emily’s score was already corrected. Incidentally, “calossum” is pronounced with a long “o”, like “kuh-low-sum”, not like they did, similar to “colosseum”.

Aaron not getting the Herbert DD was surprising.

I got FJ. However, the clue made me think of Neil Armstrong on the moon, so, that didn’t help, but, the 1775 did.

Emily looked to me like she was on the edge of bursting out laughing all the time. I’ll ascribe that to nerves. Good luck to her!

I liked the article with the Cook & Kirk comparisons. Good find! I’m glad they didn’t name Kirk Captain Kook, too. lmao

  3. Howard says:

One tough final. Didn’t help that I’ve never watched a space show or movie.
The Magellan guess was off by nearly 300 years.
Jilana played as aggressively as I expected and almost pulled it off.
Emily is an excellent player and very personable.
I found out last night that “Jeopardy!” pays the expenses for these tournament players, and they’re also given some healthy prize money.

  4. Rick says:

Hmmmm……..My first thought was Captain Cook for FJ, but then I went for Magellan.

  5. Ismael Gomez says:

That was a tough final as we got a double stumper.

  6. Kevin Cheng says:

Aaron actually received 50,000 instead of 25,000. So despite not being in FJ! in the second day of the finals, he wins an extra 25,000 more because he finished ahead of Jilana’s two day total score. Jilana also pulled it off but she made an amazing comeback. Congrats to Emily for winning Diamonds Champions Wildcard. We’ll look forward to seeing her again along with Josh Saak in the next Tournament of Champions.
