I only heard of the Iowa Workshop because of the show “Girls”.
And I didnt like the final DD about the giraffe. It felt like quite a stretch to deduce it from elephant/leopard.

Congrats to Nick! He was solid throughout! #LFGM

Props to my fellow Queens guy Nick. I got FJ only because I knew “Field of Dreams” locale. As Lawrence said, this would be hard to figure out if you didn’t know either association.

I know nil about Jane Smiley, including her name. However, WP Kinsella – Field of Dreams – “Is this heaven?” “No, it’s Iowa!” However, it is only dumb luck that I looked at his Wikpedia page somewhat recently. (If Field of Dreams, or The Natural is on, I’m watching it – again. Period.)

Good on the players realizing that “this is it”. Sitting at home, it bugs me when a contestants not in the lead doesn’t wager to at least tie, rationalizing that they will 1. ring in and 2. get the clue right for those that are left. And, it’s “go big or go home”. Worked for James Holzhauer and Cris Pannullo.

Congrats to Nick. He looks the part. I notice Dennis went with a 4 in hand tie today, vice the bow tie yesterday!

  4. William Weyser says:

The chance Nick took paid off, and he is the 1st 1-Day Champion in a Tournament of Champions in “Jeopardy!” History.

  5. Lawrence says:

I don’t love that FJ clue for being such an important. It’s too easy but also a little too specialized imo. If you know those books or movie adaptations, it’s automatic. If not, you’re probably lost. The best FJs have multiple ways to deduce the answer. Would be okay for a regular game, but not the final of a big tournament imo.

Congratulations to Nick, our third Champions Wildcard champion. He is heading to the Tournament of Champions. If you remember Jilana and Nick in their first appearance, they met for the first time and Nick was a strong player and quicker on the signaling device and won his first game and that was his only win in his original run. Jilana came back for Second Chance and won that and she made it to the finals of Champions Wildcard as well and was the second runner-up. Now Nick won this Champions Wildcard and he was as strong as Jilana was and he matched Jilana’s performance. Both Jilana and Nick has won their respective tournaments. First Jilana in the Second Chance and now Nick in the Champions Wildcard.
