I also think that Jamie should have won and advance to the semifinals if Daniel loses a lot of money in Final Jeopardy! even if he wrote the incorrect response.

Second time this week a head-scratching $0 wager was made, but this one worked out. My very shaky knowledge of highbrow music gave me the only French composer who came to mind, the correct one.

Miserable start to this show. Numerous wrong responses gobbled up by others, and the stumpers. The Nobel Prize pair was a gimme; the Sunset Strip address was straight out of my distant past; Fredericton’s province was knowable; and Sri Lanka’s flag animal was tough but guessable.

They all rebounded well and made it anyone’s game. For a brief moment, I thought Jamie would be moving on. Tough break after that comeback.

Ah yes, the Sunset Strip show — I still remember some of the words to the theme song – “You meet the highbrow and the hipster … the most exciting people pass you by, including a private eye.”

Efrem Zimbalist, Jr. was a suave gentleman (Trebek kinda reminded me of him sometimes).

There are two movies I have seen where “Clair de Lune” by Debussy stuck in my mind. More recently the multiple Academy Award winning movie “Everything Everywhere All at Once.” Jamie Lee Curtis was superb and definitely deserved her Oscar imo. The other movie, years ago, was “Ocean’s Eleven” in front of the Bellagio fountains in the Final scene. That was a cinema masterpiece finale imo.

The connection between “Verlaine” and Debussy has been a clue on Jeopardy several times over the years. As recent as 2021 it was a get.

I also went with Beethoven for FJ, but oh well.
