He has studied cordon bleu cooking, but is known for his 1981 creation of a character with unconventional taste in cuisine

6x champ Jonathan Fisher, an actor from Coral Gables, FL won $142,900 so far. In Game 7, he takes on these two players: Katy Buckner, a teacher from Los Angeles, CA; and Olivia Cammisa-Frost, a museum professional from Saratoga Springs, NY.

Jonathan got the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “Annus Horribilis” under the $800 clue on the 8th pick. He was in first place with $2,200 now, $1,200 more than Katy in second place. He made it a true Daily Double and came up with Ayers Rock right after the time ran out. That was WRONG anyway.

In the space of a few weeks in 1912, Robert Falcon Scott’s trek to this landmark ended in death, then Titanic sailed into history. show

Jonathan finished in the lead with $5,200. Katy was second with $3,400 and Olivia was last with $1,800. No clues went uncovered.

Round 2 Categories: World Geography – Political Nicknames – Historical Figures on Film – 20th Century English – Did I Miss Anything? – “F” in Science

Olivia landed on the first Daily Double in “20th Century English” under the $800 clue on the 9th pick. She was in last place with $1,000, $9,800 less than Jonathan in first place. She bet $1,500 and she was RIGHT.

Maybe worried he’d been forgotten, on his return to England after a long time crusading, he had himself re-crowned in 1194. show

Jonathan finished in the lead with a runaway $11,600. Katy was in second with $4,600. Olivia was last with $900. No clues went uncovered.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHO IS THOMAS HARRIS?

From the blog of author Andrew M. Ferrell: “Thomas [Harris] is famous for creating the iconic connoisseur of human flesh, Hannibal Lector. Like his creation, Harris is a fantastic chef and purveyor of fine wines. He has even taken the grueling Le Cordon Bleu exams. Not much else is known about this supremely private storyteller, as he has not granted an interview since 1976 and avoids publicity like the plague…. Thomas proves that you don’t have to write a hundred novels to be successful. All it takes is that one character who will live on in literary, and in Hannibal’s case Hollywood, history.”

More characters from the Hannibal Lector series: Clarice Starling, Jack Crawford, Jame “Buffalo Bill” Gumb, Dr. Frederick Chilton

Olivia thought it was Ian Fleming. She didn’t bet anything so she stayed at $900.

Katy went with Michael Chabon. That cost her $2,998 and left her with $1,602.

Jonathan got it right. He bet $1,600 and won the game with $13,200. His 7-day total is $156,100.

Hello VJ, my last comment should have read this: you know Anthony Bourdain right? the chef and author of culinary books. Could he be counted as another contemporary author like Thomas Harris? My phone seems to be screwed up on autocorrect

    • VJ says:

Lou, Thomas Harris does not write culinary books. the hint in the clue (unconventional taste in cuisine) alludes to the gross fact that Hannibal is a cannibal.

Mixup on Final Jeopardy 10/19/2021 on my TV when Ken Jennings was hosting Final portion instead of Mayim Bialek who hosted the Jeopardy and Double Jeopardy portions. There were three contestants in the Jennings portion different than those in the Bialek portion.

Katy was an embarassment to teachers, giving non-F response to “F” in Science and missing perfectly easy clues and giving Jonathan a runaway. How did she get on the show if she doesn’t know what a letter in quotation marks hints toward? Olivia was even worse.
Terribly disjointed game. The clues were the only attraction.

    • JP says:

Might not be so easy under the lights.

      • klm says:

you’re right JP. I realize I was being too harsh on Katy. Under that kind of pressure some might forget their name :). She, pour soul, only forgot the quotation marks around the F.

Olivia just couldn’t get anything going today and I would have hoped Jon would have scooped up 12000 dollars for another runaway today. Also I don’t know much about harris but speaking of culinary authors, youve heard of Anthony Bourdain a chef and author of culinary books right? He might also count as a contemporary writer, I hope. But Ian Fleming is a spy novelist and has nothing to do with food books. What was Olivia thinking? Good win by Jon.
