“What do school teachers & sumo wrestlers have in common?” is one question asked in this “crazy” 2005 book. show

John finished in the lead with a runaway $17,200. Jim was next with $6,000 and Chris was in third place with $4,200.

TWO of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

WHAT IS “JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH”?

“Perhaps one of the most well-known books about hollow-earth is Jules Verne’s Journey to the Center of the Earth. The book illustrates a third theory of hollow-earth…. This is that passages from the surface lead to caverns underground in which life thrives….

Verne may have been closer to that mark than most expected. For years scientists scoffed at the idea of life thriving underground without light to provide energy. Now explorations have found rock-eating bacteria living as far as a mile below the ground. In Romania a whole ecosystem, including spiders, scorpions, leeches and millipedes has been found in a cave cut off from the surface 5.5 million years ago.” (The Hollow Earth)

Chris got it right. He bet it all and finished with $8,400.

Jim wrote down “Heidi”. He lost his $2,400 bet, finishing with $3,600. Alex Trebek loved the humor of it and said: “A descent into Iceland’s Mount Sneffels with Heidi. She was a fun kinda girl.”

John also got it right. He bet $1,800 so he won this match with $19,000. His 2-day total is $35,400.
