Mark found the Jeopardy! round Daily Double in “18th Century History” under the $800 on the 2nd pick of the round. He was in last place with negative $1,000. Mark bet $1,000 and said Canadian Empire. That was WRONG.

Dot finished in the lead with $3,200. Eamonn was second with $3,000 and Mark was last with $200. All clues were shown.

Round 2 Categories: Russian Geography – TV Characters – Territorial Governors – I’m Him – Women Authors – Starts & Ends With “T”

Mark found the first Daily Double in “Women Authors” under the $1,200 clue on the 4th pick of the round. He was in the lead with $5,800, $2,600 more than Dot in second place. Mark bet it all and tried breathless. That was WRONG.

Mark found the last Daily Double in “Territorial Governors” under the $1,600 clue on the 13th pick of the round. He was in last place with $2,800, $6,600 less than Eamonn’s lead. Making his “last stand”, Mark went all in and he was RIGHT.

Eamonn finished in the lead with $12,200. Dot was second with $10,400 and Mark was last with $4,800. All clues were shown.

Only ONE of the contestants got Final Jeopardy! right.

Dot was going for Washington but didn’t quite finish it. She lost $599 and was left with $9,801.

Eamonn wrote down “Thacher,” which was acceptable. He added $1,500 and won the game with $13,700. Eamonn Campbell is the new Jeopardy! champ.

    Really thought all 3 would nail FJ. Shoot, those two unheard of guys’ names and “1975” made it obvious it was Maggie Thatcher. Other than the T-T metal stand, the stumpers clobbered me. Did get 2/3 of the DDs; figured out the translation of Galia Nova but didn’t put it together properly.

    Mark may have validated my “brain mush” theory of losing on a Friday, usually the fifth taping of the day.

    I thought Dot should wager at least $1801, but I see what she did. $599 totally locked out Mark in case he doubled and she missed. But Eamonn crossed her up by not wagering the expected $8601.

    Re FJ from two years ago: “Amiens” (France) and “1864 adventure novel” led me right to the author, yet no one got it.

      I thought the same of Mark – Friday is tiring. He had a lot of unforced errors.

      I was 3/3 on DD and got FJ! Also, about 80% on TS!

        Nice! Take the online test! I’ve taken it 2-3X for fun in recent years. Probably got at least 40/50 each time, but they don’t give you a score or the answers. Last time in 2023 I got invited to audition, which I ignored because I’m ineligible, at least until Mr. DeMille calls me for my close-up.

          I don’t know why I haven’t. I’ve never gotten past the first test in the prior times.

          And major props for Norma Desmond!!

          Oh, and, I thought, because dear departed Alex is, well, departed, that you could be on again!

    Mark wasn’t as sharp tonight, but he sure played some great games. In fact, I was sorry to see Mark go. As for me, I did exceptionally well tonight, and the FJ was rather obvious.

    Tough day for Mark as it was an up and down game for him. Darn those daily doubles to him. But I’m glad that we have our first 5 day champion of Season 41. Thacher was accepted so that should be a thumbs up on the spelling list decisions.
