WHAT IS PASSION?
From The Metamorphosis of Passion on Once Upon a Written Word: “The word passion originally comes from the Latin word passio, meaning to suffer or endure. Most commonly, passion referred to the Passion of Christ, or the last days of Christ’s life. … In certain ways, this Christian meaning of passion has endured to the present time: Passion plays, for example, are theatrical retellings of the gospel story.” There’s more on how the passion flower got its name, also related to the suffering of Christ and how, although we hardly use “passion” in that sense, the word “compassion” is still common today, denoting empathy with someone’s suffering.
Nowadays, you can do just about anything with a passion and that passion can probably range from enthusiasm to obsession.
Sarah wrote down “intense” and was going for the right response but only got as far as “pass” before time ran out. She lost $1,999 and was left with $1.00.
Sam came up with drama. He bet and lost it all.
Jake thought it was mortal. He lost $803 but won the game with
the $25,197 he had left. His 2-day total is $47,994.

All I could think of was Job, and, as such, didn’t come up with a response.
Still not too impressed with Jake.
All three contestants were obviously struggling with FJ. I mean, I couldn’t even make out their scribbling. In fact, Ken Jennings had to go through the motions of asking each one of them what it was that they wrote down.
Hmmmmm…….None of us got FJ right either, but there is always tomorrow.
I didn’t get it either, Rick. Like Sam, I came up with drama and I thought one person would get it right so thanks to Sarah for figuring it out even if she couldn’t finish it.
Agony was another word that crossed my mind, as in the song “Agony” from “Into the Woods”, but I knew that just occurred to me because of the line “what unbearable bliss”, so I didn’t give it serious consideration
Another tough final to start the week as we got a triple stumper.
If only the correct response occurred to Sarah earlier, it would have not been a triple stumper and she would have been the only player to be credited with a correct response.
