WHAT IS SANTA MARIA?
The 3 ships that brought Christopher Columbus to the Americas in 1492 were the flagship, Santa Maria, the Nina and the Pinta. According to Columbus’ diary, on Christmas Eve, the Santa Maria ran aground on a reef near what is now Cap-Haïtien, Haiti. Before it sunk, the Santa Maria was stripped down and its timbers used to build a fortress in Columbus’ Spanish settlement called “La Navidad.” On the return voyage to Spain, Columbus captained the Nina and Martín Alonso Pinzón captained the Pinta. The two ships became separated and it was only the Nina that stopped at the island of Santa Maria in the Azores. Learn more
Back in 2014, explorer Barry Clifford found a shipwreck near Haiti that he believed was the Santa Maria. Upon inspecting the ship, UNESCO investigators concluded that it was not the Santa Maria, but a much younger ship. Clifford vehemently disagreed with their findings.
Emma thought it was the Nina. She lost $2,799 and finished with $1.00.
John got it right. He bet $11,100 and finished with $33,300.
Troy got it right, too. He bet $20,001 and won the game with $44,401. His 6-day total is $214,802.

With the clues that obvious, and I bungled it on FJ. Anyways, I believe that this was on FJ before, and perhaps some two years ago.
Rick, the most recent clue I could find was in the 6/8/2020 game, not an FJ!
3 TO GET READY ($600) On Columbus’ first voyage, this one of a trio didn’t make it back to Spain, having run aground off Hispaniola
You could be right VJ, but that FJ did seem to ring a bell. Anyways, I was unaware that the recovered sunken ship was in fact a much newer vessel. With a wooden ship that was sunk well over 5 centuries ago no less, it would be highly doubtful that any of that ship’s remains could be found.
