  1. Richard Corliss says:

Jack’s sister’s name is Cate Hollenbeck who appeared on January 30, 2015.

  2. Laura says:

Can you give the text of the last question in the Numerical Designation category, about ST Voyager and Jeri Ryan? Many thanks.

    • VJ says:

      Here it is, Laura —

NUMERICAL CHARACTERS ($2000) On “Star Trek: Voyager” this techno-species designated Jeri Ryan’s character Seven of Nine & it sorta stuck

      • Laura says:

Thank you. I was only half paying attention when the Barbara Feldon clue was given. I shoulda seen Seven of Nine coming for miles, given that category. Numerical Characters, I meant to type.

  3. Val14 says:

Why was $2,000 take from Jack’s score when it was decided he had answered the hockey question incorrectly? It was only a $1,000 question?

    • VJ says:

@Val14, because he was awarded $1,000 when Alex accepted his answer. So they took that away, and then took another $1,000 away for the wrong answer

  4. Anne says:

It’s a shame that our young people don’t know Jesus was born in Israel. I bet that a few years ago Kate would have known where The church of the nativity was. Today, the anti-Israel groups are trying to claim the land and actually say Jesus was a Palistinian. And Muslim. Our kids seem confused by the propaganda. SMH.

  5. Keith says:

Jan 10, 2020. The question on the NHL record of 387 of these in a game was answered “penalties” and accepted. I suspect the answer should have been “penalty minutes”.

  6. Lou says:

Well another successful performance by Katie and congrats to jack on getting final. But honestly China? Really? The last time I checked, China only had the great leap forward, may fourth movement, cultural revolution, gang of four and so forth but it does not say anything about forbidding religion and that country did not have a shah. so alek thought China had an Islamic theocracy? What was he really thinking with that response, VJ? I mean ayatollah Khomeini would not travel to China to start his theocracy there right?

    • VJ says:

Wow, Lou, I bet it took you longer to type all that than Alek had to solve the clue and he didn’t have any of the info in the clue that you are faulting him for.

    • Albert says:

He just didn’t know the answer and had to venture a guess.

    • Howard says:

It was a desperate guess, but the clue mentioned only ideology and religion, and there was no mention of Islam or a shah. “1979” was a dead giveaway for me.
