Eagles Beat Dallas in Overtime as Cowboy’s Slide Continues

Since QB Tony Romo went down with an injury in Week 2, the Dallas Cowboys have been in a tailspin, losing five straight going into their home game against the Philadelphia Eagles on November 8th. The two teams essentially traded scores right down to the end of regulation when Dallas kicker Dan Bailey booted a 44 yard field goal with two seconds left to tie the score and send it to overtime.

Bailey’s kick bounced off the goal post upright and went through. Was that a sign that things were turning around and starting to go the Cowboys’ way. As it turns out, no. Philadelphia QB Sam Bradford threw a 41 yard touchdown pass to Jordan Matthews in overtime to win it for the Eagles by a final score of 33-27. Dallas lost its sixth straight to fall to 2-6. The Eagles are now 4-4.

Matt Cassel, filling in for Romo, threw for 299 yards and three touchdowns, but he also gave up a 67 yard interception for a touchdown by Jordan Hicks. Dez Bryant has from injury for Dallas and scored on one of Cassel’s TD passes. Romo is still out at least one more week, but the Cowboys are at 3-5 Tampa Bay next Sunday. They’ve at least got a shot to end the streak. Well, maybe.
